Most user experiences around music are for the casual listener. Music NFTs reshape the artist/superfan connection. Artists can now get creative capital without having to give up their rights to a label which lets artists control & distribute their music in any way possible.
Exponentially more people listen to music than collect fine art. Crypto Art is a multi-billion dollar market. This is the opportunity for Music NFTs.
many things that people buy for ridiculous amounts of money are 95% brand and 5% utility no one is really buying a Bugatti or Richard Mille because of the car/watch and most of the value from these items come from digitally flexing them on social media to grab attention
In honor of the songwriter’s DSP payment increase, I created a diagram to show how overly complex music royalties are for artists and songwriters.
Buying a Music NFT is like buying a vinyl. Except you know exactly how many there are in the world. And you can trade them at the click of a button. It's a new market for music.
It's time we enjoyed discovering music again.
Creator Revenue (2021) Spotify: -$7B to creators -11m artists -$636 Avg/Artist Youtube: -$15B to creators -37m channels -$405 Avg/Artist Meta: -$300m to creators -3B users -$0.1 Avg/User NFTs: -$3.9B to creators -22.4k creators -$174k Avg/Artist Still underestimating Web3?
People won’t care about Music NFTs until: - They make money buying them. - Showing them off matters - The fan experience genuinely improves. Game on.
This crash is honestly a healthy market correction for music NFTs IMO. Anyone who was simply extracting value from the space will be forced out and all the builders will finally have time to breathe and build the tools needed to disrupt the music industry long term.
Imagine VCs take 80% of your company for funding, make you payback the funding through your first profits, and all they mostly do is help you find some hosting for your website. That's basically the music industry for artists. One day there will be an unimaginable reckoning.
Blockchain adoption has blown past the internet. It grew at 165% a year compared to 85% of the internet. That is the maximum adoption of any technology in human history. If inflation goes $eth takes off.
Web2 made music disposable. It detached song from artist, and value from music. Web3 *can* heal those two wounds, if done properly.
Music NFTs will be 100x+ bigger market than Crypto Art. Music is the most widely created, distributed, consumed, and social type of content / art. It’s just taking a bit longer because we’re not used to valuing music like this yet.
@wilko_helmut @AlgoFoundation @cryptocrewz is working on exactly that, and VR concerts are in our roadmap, got some great collabs with live VR producers in the works
The future of music... fortune.com/2022/04/27/mus…
@pixelzen88 It's Polygon. Polygon is a 100% carbon neutral eco-friendly blockchain that has committed $20m to make their entire chain carbon zero
Music NFTs grow with the artist’s growth. Be an early supporter and you could help set an artist up for success as well as ride with them to the top. Let’s go 🚀🚀🚀
The impact NFTs will have on our world is often understated NFTs allow anyone in the world w/ internet to engage in commerce Ppl can create, sell & trade digital goods + get paid via crypto financial rails We have unlocked the worlds largest market & billions of entrepreneurs
@CallMeLatasha Cryptocrewz.com says hello !
You know, it’s okay to not like crypto, NFTs, Web3, etc. You don’t have to participate or be involved in it. But don’t punish those who CHOOSE to step into it.🧵
