There’s a past version of yourself that’s so proud of how far you’ve come.
The healthiest choice you can make is the one your eating disorder hates.
A slip doesn’t have to be a slide. Don’t punish yourself for a lapse and think, “it’s all ruined now so I might as well go full-blown.” It doesn’t have to be that way. You are strong and capable of picking yourself back up from whatever bump on the road you faced.
I started this account when I was 14 and in the depths of my ED. It began as a space for me to remind myself of things I needed to hear. Even when I relapsed, this was the one thing that kept that spark of motivation in me to recover alive. (1/3)
i hope you realize, even for a moment how powerful you really are. there's so many people who smile when they hear your name. people think of you as a light in the world. you've changed lives whether you see it or not and we don't say it enough to each other.
Think: Would I give this meal to someone I love and tell them it’s all they deserve? Why is it different for me?
Reminder that a slip doesn’t have to be a slide. Eg.: Restricting yesterday doesn’t mean you have to today. Binging doesn’t mean you shouldn’t nourish your body. Purging doesn’t mean your progress is gone. Every moment is a new moment to make a different, and better, choice.

Lapses can be a part of recovery, but that is never a requirement for your struggle to be considered valid.
Be aware of "recovery" accounts that showcase switching an obsession with caloric restriction to an obsession with the gym, lifting, and protein. That is not recovery.
You are SO MUCH stronger than the strongest excuse your disorder makes to hold on to you.
One of the best things in my recovery was, as my obsessions with food & weight diminished, my mind had so much more space to think about other things. ED thoughts are exhausting. It’s incredible how much more free you’ll feel once they lessen — which they will! It gets easier.

@recoveryworlds For my D it was fear of being sent back to another ED Unit. PTSD from Huntercombe/Taplow Manor (luckily now closed, 4mo after her discharge, after much lobbying by us present and past parents). And she wanted to catch up on lost adolescence.
