@UOrangemen I believe Gap year helps in some cases. In depend on the person. For hoops the Gap year helps if you play on a good travel team and use the time to get bigger, stronger, faster. Big jump from HS. If it’s just to take time off no. It has to be a training year with purpose.

@UOrangemen Most players have no idea how to make themselves stand out from the rest. Most coaches don't have the expertise to showcase their athletes to college programs. Along with players pursuing the wrong level and the transfer portal a lot of deserving athletes will be left behind. Sad

@UOrangemen Praying to make it as a walkon is a long shot at best . Go where you are wanted. If you trying to walk on your paying tuition anyway so why not go to the D3 that actually wants you , where you will get to play and not be a practice player if you even make the team.
