@Ahmed_kv44 Fatass late Cold War tech bought up by China and now a sunk cost for Pak. Although if the newer (and better) HQ-16F deal is sweetened by PLA stocks of HQ-16C being received by Pak to beef up interceptor depths, at least against Indian drone aircraft, it might still have a point.
@Ahmed_kv44@hshshsussyhyeg8 In fact later developments like Fatah-II/-II-ER would also have been redundant, as together the AR-3 and SR-5 (PHL-11) by Norinco could've equipped all of the rocket needs of Pak Army Regt of Artillery, the separate ARFC then improving Shaheen-1A for conventional roles.
@Ahmed_kv44@hshshsussyhyeg8 Should've picked the AR-3 over this and the Fatah-I/-I-ER. Lower unit costs given how PLAGF uses AR-3 as the PHL-16, cheaper resupply for rockets too, with more caliber and range options, and any pod could be swapped out for another using the same BRE-series rockets/BMs.
