Not sure whether your plot makes sense outside your own head? That's something a fresh reader can help you discover. DM “PLOT.”
A plot twist shouldn't feel random. The best reaction is: “I didn't see that coming…” followed by: “…but it makes perfect sense.” #WritingTips
What's your biggest plotting problem? Too many ideas? Not enough ideas? Connecting scenes? Figuring out the ending? #WritingCommunity
Quick test for your chapter: What changed because this chapter happened? If the answer is “nothing,” you may have found a problem. #WritingTips
An amazing premise can still become a confusing story. Sometimes the problem isn't the idea. It's the order of events. #Plotting #AmWriting
A first draft is supposed to be messy. Your job isn't to write a perfect book. Your job is to finish the story. #AmWriting #FirstDraft
Some books fade from memory, but the feelings they leave behind can stay for years. #BookThreads #Readers
The author knows every detail, but the reader discovers the story one page at a time. #WritingCommunity #AuthorThreads
A polished manuscript and an emotionally powerful reading experience aren't always the same thing. #WritingTips #FictionWriting
Honest reader reactions can reveal unexpected things about a story. Have you ever received feedback that changed your perspective? #WritingCommunity #Authors
Every manuscript has an author's vision and a reader's experience. The connection between them is where storytelling comes alive. #AuthorThreads #ReaderPerspective
Been staring at the same unfinished manuscript for weeks? Maybe you don't need more motivation. Maybe you need another reader. DM me “EYES.”
A first draft is supposed to be messy. Your job isn't to write a perfect book. Your job is to finish the story. #AmWriting #FirstDraft
What's hardest for you? A — Starting B — Finishing C — Editing D — Letting someone read it #WritingCommunity
If you're rewriting the same chapter over and over, ask: “Does this chapter actually move the story forward?” Sometimes the problem isn't the sentence. It's the scene. #WritingTips #AmWriting
@Hanryx_23 @MarcopoloT50229 @theGOATcaby A decade for the sequel?? That's brutal. Was the novel worth the wait?
@ecliptaris Six years and you'd still do anything to read it again?? Okay, now I need to know what novel it is
Your manuscript doesn't have to be perfect before someone reads it. Sometimes you just need another set of eyes. If you've been sitting on your manuscript, what's stopping you from moving forward? #WritingCommunity #AmWriting
Good horror follows you home. #HorrorWriting
Anticipation can be scarier than the reveal. #HorrorWriter
