I cannot get over how every site is begging you to turn off Adblock when every “reputable” site on the internet without one these days would be considered on par with the sketchiest place on the net in the 2000s.
Fandom wikis feel like they’re seconds away from showing me a pop up flash game you play to win a free PlayStation 3
@regularaugust youtube begging you not to use them just to force you into 2 30 second ads for a 10 second video
@regularaugust My favorite is news sites and fandom. I would say news sites are worse, but the autoplay banner video on fandom takes the cake. You start off seeing more ads than content
@regularaugust vampires asking to be let inside
"They used Ad block so now we have less ad revenue which means we need more ads which means more people are using ad block so now we have less ad revenue which means we need more ads which means more people are using ad block so now we have less ad revenue which means we need more ads which means more people are using ad block so..."
@regularaugust How the web page looked on my tablet as I'm trying to follow a guide
@regularaugust It's wild. Whenever I'm forced to interact with a website with no adblocker it basically becomes unusable. Especially on a phone. I thought we had made progress but I was just tech savvy enough to insulate myself.
