University courses that should be mandatory in all programs, as it seems not all of the students starting have these necessary skills. Accountability. An in-depth analysis on what it is and how each of us are responsible for our actions. Includes a section on consequences. Each student must turn in an essay entitled “why nobody is above the law”. Fact vs fiction. Providing students with the appropriate tools to distinguish reality from propaganda. Discussed the importance of critical thinking, and how/ when to apply it. Project work will include debunking of popular propaganda. Free-speech vs Hate-speech. Looking into the definitions of both and learning how to differentiate between the two. Mock protests will be held to demonstrate the differences. Research and analysis. Critical at all levels of life, this course will teach the skills for how to do proper homework in an issue, group or cause and understand exactly what they’re all about before making a decision to join them. All faculty should also be required to take these courses, with mandatory refreshers every five years.
@rich_toronto Sad that university introductory courses should have to cover material that should be part of everyone’s secondary education. But better this than not at all.
@rich_toronto Critical thinking!!! I know you’ve got research there but without critical thinking facts will go thru one ear and out the other
@rich_toronto Are they supposed to just continue navel gazing and watching tik tok videos in high school then? Because all of these should be required there. University should use them as foundations when they go more in depth in their specific subject matter.
@rich_toronto Sorry, that's a no-go. "Generation Me" will not recognize accountability, facts or free speech for all. Running with the pack has its advantages - being absolutely positively righteous is one of them.
@rich_toronto or they could not except monies from terrorist groups & then hire who they want in place.. all education is to teach you how to think not what to think!
@rich_toronto refresher courses EVERY YEAR and policies on no anti-semitism, and mandatory penalties that include being fired or suspended
@rich_toronto In the USA there seems to be a decided lack of education in personal rights that vary depending on the land people are standing on. Private property means they have limited rights, public property is where they can rant, undress and carry on while politicians allow it.
