I haven't gone full Luddite - I still use Discord and Steam sometimes, though not nearly as much. Folks still catch me around, they have conversations with me, but I'm not the constant digital presence that I used to be.

During all this time I've avoided social media, I haven't gotten into a big fight with my family once. The people in my life have been saying they've noticed a difference in my behavior; they say I've become more calm, less anxious, less stressed.

I don't feel stressed, or suicidal, or like I'm losing my mind anymore. I realize now I was using the Internet to avoid my real-life issues, instead of doing anything to deal with them. I hid from my problems instead of facing them.

And my mood's been better, my sleep cycle's been better, I started college classes, I started making genuine progress with programming, I started writing again, and I started drawing again.

So, over Christmas break, I decided to take my therapists' advise: Stop using social media. Try to avoid the Internet when you can. So for the past month, I've avoided the Internet, and spent my time doing more meaningful things.

In my time on social media, I was manipulated into dating somebody I didn't love (who wound up lying and manipulating an entire group of people for three months), had to deal with a woman faking a split personality to attack us, and then everything with Skeleton Cavern.

So, over the summer, I started seeing a therapist who helped me greatly. But then all the stuff with Bones happened, and I was right back to the same kind of constant misery.

For the past three years, I've been suicidally depressed, constantly miserable, and always on the verge of ending it all. It got to the point where it was a daily struggle just to convince myself not to put a gun to my head.

If you couldn't tell from the lack of content from the past month, or the fact that I've deleted almost everything and unfollowed everyone, then I'll say it here: I'm not going to be active on any kind of social media anymore.
