You may have noticed a lack of streaming last week... Well, Last week was a bit of a nightmare as a dad for my son Aaron was admitted to the hospital with back pain that could be either a rare infection or cancer. I wanted to provide and update. TLDR now is, it wasn't cancer, and he is being discharged with a long road ahead of antibiotic treatments. It's good it's behind us but it was a long and very scary week. Now the full story: Greetings, Robeytech community! Thank you for the positive thoughts, as our 14-year-old son, Aaron, continues to heal at Seattle Children’s Hospital! Aaron was admitted to Seattle Children’s one week ago for an infection in one of his lower vertebrate. At first it was scary because it was showing signs of both infection AND cancer which was scary for myself and my family. He has been on antibiotics that are proving effective, and we just got a clean report from his bone biopsy that it was infection and not cancer. (Which was scary that it was even a possibility for a week). My wife and I have been sharing the caretaking, while Aaron heals on the upper floor of the hospital. The medical teams have been nothing short of incredible. Friends, family, and church members have been visiting, calling, writing, and texting with well-wishes throughout the week. We definitely feel loved! Today, Aaron will be discharged and sent home with prescriptions and a note to return to school tomorrow! He’s excited to get on with life, and only mildly excited to return to school. Thank you for all your support in this time. You are appreciated! Robeytech
@robeytech How did the infection start? I'm happy to see he is improving and is discharged. The long road to recovery is never fun. I hope he never has to face this type of issue in the future.
@robeytech As a father, I can only imagine the stress the family endured. Glad to hear he is cancer free and clear to be back in school!
@robeytech Thanks for the update and glad to hear it wasn’t worst. Aaron’s a trooper and hoping for speedy recovery! ❤️
@robeytech Very happy to hear he's fully recovered, best wishes to all of you.
@robeytech Wow thanks for the update. Prayers for continued healing for your son!
