Guys I'm of course seeing all your posts about the paywall. I don't know what to tell you: it costs money to pay reporters and editors. "Offer the stories people want to read for free and paywall others!" is not a business strategy. theglobeandmail.com/canada/article…
@robyndoolittle That why you have advertisers. Paywalling the public is NOT living up to journalistic integrity.
@robyndoolittle I imagine it’s coming from the same people who scream “defund the CBC!” into the void. Great story as always, looking forward to the names being released!
@robyndoolittle @CarrieTait I think the criticism is around this specific story and the idea that you should perhaps make some content free with the idea that if it’s a story of interest etc. you’ll attract more subscribers with quality journalism on the free piece.
@robyndoolittle They have a monetized account so they are making money on twitter and double dipping with a pay wall and you read the quality of the pay walled articles and regret paying. I'll just get my news elsewhere. Like here on twitter in real time not hours or days later 😁
@robyndoolittle It really is a "don't come crying to me if your newspaper dies" moment, isn't it?
@robyndoolittle I don’t mind paying. I do mind when the subscription login technology is dated and bad.
@robyndoolittle It's the future and it's right here X. Legacy media is dead.
