Free but with ads and no support for secure storage!? Just get @LibreOffice instead. libreoffice.org (Regular OneDrive doesn’t support end-to-end encrypted storage. Not even when you use the Personal Vault, marketed a way to “securely store your most sensitive files”.)

Microsoft has begun quietly testing a new version of Office for Windows. It's free, but includes ads and has limited features, including forcing all saved documents to OneDrive. READ: windowscentral.com/software-apps/… 🪟

@ElevatorsElite The installation plan is not being communicated. As a customer no one is able to tell me when the fully paid for lift is going to get installed.

It's been a busy newsweek, but let's not miss this story: China has demonstrated the first commercial-scale passive cooling of a high temperature nuclear reactor with a pebble bed module. They intentionally turned off the cooling and the reactor cooled itself down, no problem.

We created a no-prompt bootable ISO with WinPE that auto-deletes the bad crowdstrike file. Then automount to VDI machines and have them boot to it. We've done hundreds this way.

Congratulations to Harith Noah…. Great to see an Indian rider on top at the world’s hardest rally. 🇮🇳💪🏽🏁 I thought people who did the Dakar in a car were brave - the ones who do it on a bike are completely nuts!!

A difference in company philosophy: @neuralink: put wires on brain. @CorticalLabs: grow brain on wires. Cortical Labs just completely changed my dreams and nightmares. Here it is in Hon Weng’s hotel room. He is showing this off tomorrow at a brain conference in San Francisco. You get a sneak peak tonight.

Family members of the Israeli hostages taken by Hamas are now a big voice. This is Yonatan Zeigen, the son of Vivian Silver a lifelong peace activist believed to be a hostage in Gaza. He has been urging the Israeli government to try and win her release through negotiations. No shouting. No vitriol. Just a man who loves and respects his mother ⬇️

“You can’t cure killed babies with more dead babies. We need peace.” The son of a missing Israeli peace activist says that his mother would be mortified by the situation in Gaza, and that vengeance is not a strategy.

A quick word for and about the haters (or pessimists) on both sides. As I've said here a couple of times, I am an Israeli Jew who believes that revenge is not a strategy, and that the only way forward is to work for freedom and dignity for all people. But in saying this, there are two groups of people who I can't ignore. First, those who believe that the massacres on Saturday were somehow "justified" by Israel's actions, and second, those who say that "you can never make peace with those people." So a word for and about both. First, nothing, absolutely nothing, can justify the deliberate murder of children, old people, and civilians in general. You can't blame a child, anywhere in the world, for where she was born, and targeting children is *always* wrong. Always. No exceptions. As for those who say, "how can you make peace with people who want to kill you?" a couple of things. First, you make peace with your enemies. That's why it's called making peace. Second, I have zero patience for the Islamophobes who put this on all Muslims, Arabs, or Palestinians, most of whom would never harm a child. And lastly, if Hamas is not interested, then let's talk to *anyone* who is. And no, we have not done that over the years. Again, neither the Jews nor the Palestinians are going anywhere. We have to live together. So let's find a way. Anything else will lead to total catastrophe.

Thank you @ThePrintIndia and @SumiSukanya for highlighting our citizens funded public health initiative to test generics and branded drugs quality in India. We recently retrieved generic metformin and atorvastatin drugs that did not help improve diabetes and high cholesterol in a woman. We paid out of pocket for for a primary quality check of retrieved drugs (approx. INR 33200) Four metformin and three atorvastatin drugs (branded, branded generics & State supplied generic) including those consumed by the patients were tested for drug-assay quality. We found that one atorvastatin generic solely manufactured and supplied to government hospitals was of poor quality. The patient was on this [more details on link provided]. Just this random checking has revealed poor quality drugs at consumer level in public funded hospitals. In this context, we plan to initiate a citizens funded project to analyse commonly prescribed generics and branded drugs which will be performed using standard operating procedures as laid down by Indian Pharmacopeia and drug regulations. The Mission for Ethics and Science in Healthcare or MESH in short, a registered non-profit public service society, of which I am a part of, will gladly do this on behalf of the public (more on this soon, project, funding details, contribution options etc). Think of MESH as what Humanists of UK is to Europe and The Center for Inquiry is to the USA. It's high time India had it's own science and ethics organization to shield her people from health related misinformation & disinformation, pseudoscience, unethical medical practices, poor health and drug regulation and bad science. Some MESH members here on Twitter/X: @arifhussaintm, @Lucythebiped, @DrTonyPhilip, @shinsmon and @ScienceIsDope_ Please read more here: theprint.in/health/kerala-…

It's 2023 and I'm not sure if anyone cares for #netneutrality in India anymore, but Jio, Vi and Airtel are coming for it. Don't take my word for it. Here are excerpts from their submissions to @TRAI (uploaded last night) :
