If you don't like a thing, be very skeptical of your own explanations of why other people like it. At best, you're probably wrong. More likely you're just being condescending or insulting (or both).

I came back to my hometown and found, again, in my bookcase, my old RPG collection from 15 years ago. This is what I grew up reading regarding RPGs. So many hours and so much imagination fostered by them.

By random chance I started reading a compendium of D&D 2e spells and it reminded me why I love OSR. Most spells I know of in 5e are for combat. It feels more like a wargame. Spells in 2e are the things you would expect in a world where magic exists, it’s immersive and flavorful.

Ever since I got my copy of Champions of Death by @cubicle7 for Soulbound I cannot shake off the need to do a rules modification for playing it solo and live the adventures of a jolly undead prancing around the AoS worlds.
