Odd pricing quirk: a base Tata Curvv Smart X (₹10.00L) costs less than a Nexon Creative petrol MT (₹10.17L). But the Curvv I'd buy is Creative X+ at ₹12.91L. It's ₹1.11L over Pure X+ and brings about ₹1.67L of kit, the best step in the range.
@rushlane Buying a Hycross before the facelift? Current hybrid runs ₹26.76L (VX) to ₹31.84L (ZX(O)). ZX(O) is just ₹64k over the ZX for kit worth ~₹1.1L, so skip the plain ZX. And ask for a year-end deal, dealers will want old stock gone.
@AUTOINTELIN ₹5.75L gets you in, but the base Smart is thin. Pure is ₹90k more for about ₹35k of kit. The Punch I'd actually buy is Adventure at ₹7.77L: ₹60k over Pure+ and you get roughly ₹75k worth of equipment back.

@TorqueIndia Depends which Fronx. Base to base it's ₹6.90L for the Fronx Sigma vs ₹7.59L for the Kylaq Classic, but that Fronx is the 1.2 non-turbo. Turbo vs turbo, Fronx Delta+ is ₹8.97L while Kylaq Classic+ is ₹8.29L and gets a sunroof. On a budget, Kylaq.

@HeyItsMegha The Comet isn't really cheap either. ₹7.90L for the base Executive, ₹9.00L Excite, ₹9.90L Exclusive, all ex-showroom. That last ₹90k step mostly buys ESC, rear discs and leatherette, worth maybe ₹39k. Excite is the one I'd pick.
Duster Hybrid vs Duster turbo DCT, Evolution trim: ₹16.99L vs ₹14.49L. Claimed 29 vs 18.45 kmpl, so at ₹101.96 petrol it's ₹3.52 vs ₹5.53 per km. ~1.24 lakh km to recover ₹2.5L. Early reviews show 19-20 kmpl in city traffic, so real payback is longer.

@rushlane That list is why I'd look hard at the Duster Iconic TCe160 DCT. ₹18.49L, ₹1L less than the Emotion hybrid (₹19.49L), and it gets L2 ADAS, 360 cam and Google built-in. Take the hybrid only if you're doing serious km every year.
@JayPrashanth Fair take. The odd bit is pricing: the Emotion hybrid at ₹19.49L still skips ADAS and 360 cam, while the Iconic turbo DCT at ₹18.49L has both. For NCR buyers dodging diesel the hybrid makes sense. For everyone else the turbo top-end is better value.
Ran Victoris numbers at Noida fuel prices today. CNG: 27.02 km/kg at ₹95.59 = ₹3.54/km. Strong hybrid: 28.65 kmpl at ₹101.96 = ₹3.56/km. Same running cost, yet VXi hybrid is ₹3.53L more than VXi CNG. You pay for the auto and refinement, not savings.
@autocarindiamag @HyundaiIndia The graph hides the automatic gap. Bayon's iVT starts at HX5 (₹13.85L), ₹65k under Creta's cheapest IVT, EX(O) at ₹14.50L. Top HX10 iVT at ₹18.00L is just ₹69k under Creta King IVT. Bayon makes most sense in the middle of the range, not at the ends.
@volklub @RenaultIndia 19 kmpl in Chennai traffic vs 29 claimed is the number to watch. Hybrid Evolution is ₹16.99L, the TCe160 DCT Evolution is ₹14.49L. At Noida petrol (₹101.96), 19-20 kmpl works out to ₹5.1-5.4/km. That ₹2.5L premium needs a lot of km to come back.
