in my experience, having a handful of journalists at a party is good because they can talk to anybody and often have funny stories, but you have to keep it below 50% or it will quickly turn into kvetching about the copy desk
@ryanbeckwith The implication of the "Beckwith Numeral" is that this threshold used to be lower. Over the last couple decades, the probability of any one working journalist interacting with a proper copy desk has gone down, therefore reducing the global likelihood of copy-kvetching.
