@TheGrassyNowell I've seen a lot of crazy combos at the bar. The real nonsense is Nightcrawler, followed by Blue Marvel, followed by multiple Onslaughts.

@STRENGTH_WULF @therealjoebob @kinky_horror Also, since our interests seem to align: I am one of the resident Joe Bob loremasters on the Lost Drive-In Discord. I maintain a series of Letterboxd lists of all the movies he has ever hosted, with broadcast date/guest details. letterboxd.com/geekboxing/lis…

@seandps I have not. The level of violence I have seen described in Terrifier sounds very, very excessive even for me, and I am mostly desensitized to stuff like that in horror movies.

@jackslung Haven't seen it. But Predator isn't really a slasher franchise, either.

Man, 2022 really took a wrecking ball to all my favorite slasher franchises. Here I was excited about the year in horror ahead, in January. Then we got Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Scream 5, Chucky season 2 (ugh and that's just SO FAR), and now Halloween Ends.

@GrantMarinella No, I think there will obviously be another reboot or something at some point.

@claytonflesher Haha, fair enough. That franchise HAS always been a disaster with few exceptions.

@claytonflesher You know, I try really hard to check myself with that, and I think you're right and that's part of it. I have mostly squared some of that in my head (like Scream 5 just... isn't for me anymore, somehow?). But TCM and Halloween Ends were just narratively broken as hell.

@Brucewaynebrady Yeah, that one was OK. I've never been a massive fan of that series, but I thought the new movie was fine.

@YerBoyDrew313 Hah, Hellraiser was the one OK one, of the big "horror icon" franchises. I didn't LOVE it, but it was fine.

Since Halloween Ends was trash, here's the HALLOWEEN CINEMATIC UNIVERSE ending I jokingly imagined a few months ago. In hindsight, I would 1000% prefer this to what we actually got.
