The Weight of the Crown on World Lion Day sactrust.substack.com/p/the-weight-o…

Meet Emmanuel Kiprotich, incharge of Security at Nairobi National Park. For Emmanuel, being a ranger is a life of sacrifice, endurance and service. It's through the relentless patrols, constant monitoring, and unwavering commitment of rangers like him that Kenya's rhino story has changed. At one point, Kenya's rhino population had fallen to fewer than 400 because of poaching. Today, it is approaching 3,000 and continues to grow; a testament to the dedication of the men and women who protect our wildlife every day. Let's honour every ranger whose commitment continues to give Kenya's wildlife and national heritage a fighting chance. #ThisIsOurWild #KWS #WorldRangerDay

@KWSKenya Brilliant video clip. Thanks for sharing!

What you can do on #WorldBeeDay. Create a "pollinator highway" in your backyard or patio by planting native species like Aloes and Tecoma. Let’s keep Southern Africa buzzing.

Did you know? The Cape Honeybee (Apis mellifera capensis) can uniquely clone itself when a queen is lost. These extraordinary pollinators are perfectly adapted to the harsh, fire-driven dynamics of our local ecosystems. #WorldBeeDay, #BeeFacts #WildlifeConservation #AfricaNature

Tomorrow, May 20th, is #WorldBeeDay! 🐝 At Southern African Conservation Trust (SACT) we’ll be celebrating these tiny giants that keep our biomes alive. From the Fynbos to the Karoo, Southern Africa’s indigenous bees are the unsung heroes of our wilderness.
