Any automaker CEOs who don't call Elon this weekend to ask to be the first in line to license FSD are making the biggest mistake of their business lives. Not that I expect them to, because they've proven emphatically in the past that they're incredibly dumb and have yet to convince me that they're beginning to understand.
True statement. I’ve worked as a supplier to the Detroit 3 for too long and the paralyzing mindset is nauseating. 48v battery? ‘Can’t do it, cuz grandpa didn’t do it.’ New production line processes? ‘Just do what grandpa did, it’s good enough’. Sometimes, Grandpa can learn something new in life. In Detroit, being safe is better than taking chances. Pivoting completely as a Detroit 3 supplier to a Tesla supplier has been the best - a company who is open to trying new materials, new component design and adopting new technologies at a rapid pace has been far more rewarding than the stagnant halls of Detroit 3.
@saintsXL @alex_avoigt I did some work for Ford back in the 90s and the whiff of stagnation was evident. I imagine it’s only gotten worse.
@saintsXL @alex_avoigt Well look what happened to the Ford CEO who moved the F150 to the aluminum body
