Google skipped required environmental assessments and illegally clear-cut 815 acres of pristine forest. Over 250,000 mature old growth trees were cut down. Habitats destroyed. Wildlife run out of the area, and into nearby villages searching for food. Worst of all, because the entire operation was illegal, the wood from the site cannot be sold or processed. So 800 acres of old growth forests destroyed needlessly in just months, for one Google data center. Donald Trump criticized Google for the project, not because of its destruction, but because he wanted the data center built here in America. This is the future of our beautiful forests, national parks, and public lands in rural communities all across America, if we allow this administration to continue with this lawless destruction. 60 Minutes obtained the names of 63 people on a deportation flight from Texas to West Africa. Of the 19 people we reached who were sent to Ghana, 17 say Ghana then transported them against their will to their home countries — places U.S. immigration judges had ruled they should not be returned to. A Department of Homeland Security lawyer told 60 Minutes he was not aware of cases in which Ghana had sent deportees home against their will.
