The Gambia’s biggest hospital EFSTH at the moment does not have a functioning CT scan nor does it has MRI machine. But the government will spend D100 million including hiring a foreign event planner just to celebrate independence. This is scary!

The price for a loaf of bread in The Gambia is expected to increase from D10 to D13 as Ramadan approaches. While ordinary Gambians are worried, authorities are busy preparing for a so called Diamond Jubilee independence celebration and millions of taxpayers monies would fund it

A country with serious foreign policy stands a chance to gain a whole lot. In the Gambia however, it appears the government thinks foreign service is where you can assign politician friends without bothering if they are fit for the job. We can do better!

I refused to celebrate an independence when thousands of ordinary Gambians are thinking of where the next meal is coming from. There is absolutely nothing to celebrate about. Gambian people and generations unborn deserve better!

You don’t need to be brave to predict that the next Gambian president will be Adama Barrow, Ousainu Darboe or Mamma Kandeh. How come none of them will be at the debates today? Can we just go & drag them to the venue? This is important. Let’s not accept any flimsy excuses

The Gambia parliament debating on the Access to Information Bill tabled by the Justice Minister in December 2019. I hope the law makers will pass this bill so that important information to the public can be accessible by all. Kudos to GPU for coming this far... @gmpressunion

At last there is a life-saving drug for Covid-19 according to a health research team from the UK. This is indeed a welcoming news especially for poor African countries like ours. Kudos to scientists in the UK for the breakthrough.

It saddens me that child abuse and rape are on the increase in the Gambia. On the occasion of the Day of the African Child today, I call on authorities to put more concerted efforts to make the Gambia a safe heaven for all children.#DAC2020
