My daughter can't go to childcare or kindergarten if I refuse to get her a Hepatitis B vaccine. It's a sexually transmitted disease. She's not even 2. How can the @ausgov defend this policy? No Jab, No Play is outrageous. In reality, it's no jab no work for me.

I remember that the trees put out their first shoots before I was ready. I still felt broken. I was still coughing up black gunk and dreaming about flames surrounding me every night. We still didn't even have the names of all the dead. But the trees had the gall to carry on.

I feel so sad for the people who live in the Pacific Palesades. I lived through the Black Saturday fires, and I well remember the feeling of displacement and loss as I looked out on a landscape I didn't recognise. It was my home, but I didn't feel at home anymore.

I always feel so left out at Thanksgiving. A whole nation is having a huge celebration and I'm not invited to dinner. Why do I feel this every year? I'm Australian. We don't do Thanksgiving, we have a BBQ on Australia Day instead. But I want PECAN pie and a TURKEY 😆
