If LMU can't explain the 6 sport cuts, then who can? Why is Craig Pintens cutting so many LMU female athletes and female coaches? Per Craig Pintens, it's because of NIL, oh wait! it's not because of NIL, per Craig, it's because of the changing landscape of the NCAA! oh wait maybe not? because the landscape hasn't changed yet as the NCAA committee hasn’t voted on the proposed changes that keep changing. It's not a monetary thing, said Craig Pintens, but yet he wants to focus all the financial resources on the remaining athletes. It's not a facility thing? Because five of the six cut teams practice at off campus facilities such as a world class track and a world class marina that sits just below the University. The swim team, however, does practice on campus at the pool, which after all was built for - wait for it - swimming! Is it performance? These sports had top performances and broke records. Is it that the LMU Jesuit mission and values have changed and the “entire” LMU student athlete is no longer welcome or a focus of LMU? Maybe we can learn in the article attached? We would like these answers directly from LMU President Snyder.
