One item did become clear watching Wolves yesterday - outside of Joao Gomes, and to a lesser degree Andre, I feel absolutely no connection to anyone else in this squad. Been a long time since I felt this way.

Taking a step further, assuming this is also a 6 year interest only loan due in full at maturity, they're betting they'll be able to refinance a loan in 5 years that's more than double what Fosun bought wolves for. Not as easy if we're in the Championship, in my view.

I get trusting Agbadou the first couple matches to regain form after last season but he's miles off it. Even more negligent is believing a Major League Soccer defender with no Premier League experience who also spent all of last season injured was going to be starting PL quality.

Lots of chatter about Wolves finances. Key takeaway in my view is that they've had to pledge additional assets (stadium/properties) in addition to broadcast revenue to secure the loan. Presumably, our broadcast revenue is not as assured at the current level as it was 5 yrs ago.

My takeaway following not listening to the interview and based on articles released since the window closed is that Jeff Shi is laying the foundation to center blame on Vitor when we inevitably are struggling for survival. Also, he has lost a lot of hair.

Your literal job as a VAR ref is to make sure mistakes aren't made. There should be zero tolerance. Being reassigned for one match so that you don't spoil the result for one of Sky's Big 6 is grossly insufficient.
