One of the highlights of this job was getting to meet the man I get asked about almost every day. Contrary to popular belief (and Google), we weren’t related, but on the several occasions I met him, he couldn’t have been nicer. Lightfoot is gone, but the legend lives on..

Sometimes someone steps up for you, without you asking (or even knowing), and in doing so, profoundly alters the course of your career (and your life). For me that person was @AustinCTV Congrats on your well earned retirement Austin- and thanks for everything.

Sad to read of the passing of Vinnie Talotta- a talented photographer, and a great guy to chat with when we were both covering a story. Vince took this photo in 2015 at a world record snowball fight when the participants turned on me. My condolences to his family and friends.

The moral of the story is a good one for young journalists- believe in yourself, and don't give up when things get tough. Thrilled to see @CTVDanaRoberts get recognized for his (hard earned) success, though from now on I will only refer to him as "Guelph child".

Covering court with @SamPazzano was a masterclass in journalism. A great reporter sure- but always generous with information, and eager to help other reporters. Also a super nice guy. During recesses, judges, lawyers- even criminals would approach him in the hall just to say hi.

A thousand years ago when I was in j-school at @RSJnow, @strombo went out of his way to be kind to me. It meant a lot to this kid. Now he’s doing something kind for all media students- so if you are one of those, take him up on it.
