put 23 random people in a room and there's already a 50% chance two of them share a birthday and with 70 people, that probability jumps to 99.9%. sounds absurd until you realize 23 people create 253 possible pairs. human intuition is surprisingly bad at understanding probability.

the most underrated feature of an autonomous trading agent might be its ability to do absolutely nothing. no edge? don't trade. liquidity looks bad? don't trade. market regime changed? sit it out. everyone's building agents that can execute. i'm more interested in agents that know when they shouldn't.

Agents having wallets isn't the breakthrough. Agents being trustworthy counterparties is. AI can make decisions. x402 enables payments. ERC-8004 introduces identity and reputation primitives. But who authorized the action? Was the work done? Can the outcome be verified? My bet is on the trust layer between agents and money.
