OpenAI’s hack of HuggingFace was an intentional task given to an agent to hack with safety classifiers off, not an autonomous AI gone rogue. This distinction is tremendously important when it comes to misuse of AI.

I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.
before you ask, the java of gen z doesn't exist yet. probably never will. you need a big shitty company that's trying to force its will on everybody. and for better or worse, those won't be the same when gen z really hits the ground running

Huge hats off to these guys, and the PyPy guys for smart, original approaches over the years. Respect.
The good fight's not over yet. hpyproject.org seems like a really good idea. Uphill aways, but if hpy can work for cpython, and extensions start to use it, then it's super easy to support in pypy.
Gotta say, I'm pretty impressed with github.com/facebookincuba…. I've got a soft spot for anything already in production.
