And so it begins. Australian woman. Traveling to Canada. Loose fitting dress. Layover in US. Border officials detain her, ask at least twice if she's pregnant and 'Have you recently had an abortion?' Visa denied. Sent back to Australia. Why was she interrogated about an abortion?
@DonLew87 Abortion is legal in Australia. Why would she travel to Canada to have one? And, why would her having a recent abortion concern BP? If she had, it would have been LEGAL in the country from which she originated.
@sftballwife @DonLew87 It’s also legal in Los Angeles where it says she landed. Story makes no sense to me. Feel like something’s missing
@sftballwife @DonLew87 CBP/ICE is DEEPLY conservative and although a lot of their bad press is from stuff they do on the southern border, they are very shitty at the north. They see ALL foreigners from more liberal nations as threats, much like how Soviet border guards would harass anyone from the west
@sftballwife @DonLew87 And legal in California - are we going to find out BP agents are like the CVS guy that won’t sell condoms because if his faith. Depending on the faith if the BP agent will depend on if you make your connecting flight. And the GQP calls us snowflakes! 🙄
@sftballwife @DonLew87 This story makes no sense
@sftballwife @DonLew87 Is she said yes she was pregnant, would they have made her stay???? Wtf
@sftballwife @DonLew87 And legal in Los Angeles, where the interrogation allegedly happened.
@sftballwife @DonLew87 Abortion had nothing to do with her travel. She was coming to Canada for a house-sitting holiday. The US border official asked if she had had an abortion.
@sftballwife @DonLew87 Collecting DATA…….TONS OF DATA ON ALL FEMALES?
@sftballwife @DonLew87 The other part that didn’t add up to me is that this was in California…so, just a rogue CBP officer?
@sftballwife @DonLew87 And also legal in the country she was going to. None of #USBorderControl business. She was at the airport on a layover.
