@Manu_otaku7 It goes beyond nuclear too. Godzilla and kin have been condemnations of imperialism, Commercialism, Western-style capitalism, Pollution, Militarism, and isolationism, and dozens more once you look into what each movie is saying.
@Manu_otaku7 I feel like a good genre for people to deep dive into to learn thee politics/critsisms of Japan while still being entertained is the Kaiju Genre. That genre has a lot to say about Japan, given it was founded upon such strong roots of politics
@KRRicRX Takkong did 9/11 is my headcanon
@Based_SpaceGoji Being my entry point to the crazy world of Japanese Kaiju. And the entire use of the Meganulon/Meganuera/Megaguirus is sick. Plus having the most disturbing 21st-century Kaiju kill in the Alleyway scene
@YKigono @StormwindZakuro @SunnRiserr @Cross_Ultimate Eiji put it in because he was catholic, yes. BUT Japan does not really have any flavor of Abrahamic religion as anything more than 0.1- 9%. When you see it, it is because of Ultraman OR attempts to use Abrahamic religion like we over in the West would/do use Greek and Norse Myth.
@generalthemoon I do genuinely believe some Americans believe Jesus was born in Jerusalem, Ohio.
