A few reasons why I’ve been late to see patients: A child’s cancer relapsed, family devastated An adolescent expressed suicidal intent A child with life threatening anaphylaxis Things that have never been the reason I was late: Eating bon bons Not valuing patients time

At an interview, if you say you aren’t interested in research, that’s bad because medicine is based on research. But it is ok to say you aren’t interested in a CAREER in research. Lots of great doctors read/evaluate the literature but don’t conduct research.
