Jamaican, Rohan Freeman made it to the top of the world, literally! Rohan became the first Jamaican to reach the summit of Everest, first in 2009 and again in May 23, 2025. He holds the distinction of being the first Jamaican and African-American to climb the Seven Summits; the highest mountain on each of the seven continents.
Today, we celebrate the life and legacy of the Honourable Robert Nesta “Bob” Marley, one of Jamaica’s most influential cultural icons and a global ambassador for our music and message. Through his lyrics, Bob Marley challenged injustice, promoted love, and inspired people across the world to stand firm in their dignity and rights. His message remains deeply relevant today, reminding us to rise above our challenges and to work together in building a more just and compassionate society. Decades after his passing, Bob’s music continues to reach new generations, strengthening Jamaica’s cultural impact on the global stage. We remain proud of his contribution to our nation and to humanity. One love. One heart, let’s get together and feel alright.
