Two lives are tied to one decision — and we cannot make the wrong one. This is the donkey who collapsed while pulling a heavily loaded cart. Today, he is safe with us. He is standing again. He is trying to walk again. But his hind legs are still weak and unstable, and one thing is absolutely clear: This donkey is NOT fit to return to work. We cannot send him back to a cart. We cannot put weight behind him again. We cannot wait for him to collapse a second time. But there is another side to this story. His owner came to our shelter today. He himself has a significant mobility impairment and walks with the help of a crutch. And this donkey was his means of earning a living. Since the rescue, he has been calling us repeatedly. He has come to the shelter because he needs his livelihood back. We understand that. But the answer cannot be to send this donkey back to work. So now we have only one humane solution: We must retire this donkey permanently and provide his owner with a specially adapted motorised cart so he can continue earning without ever depending on a working donkey again. This is exactly why TAWF created our Second Chance for Working Equines programme. It is not enough to rescue an exhausted animal for one night and then return him to the same cycle. We have to break that cycle. The donkey must stay safe. The owner must still have a way to earn. And another donkey must never be brought in to replace him. We need your help once again. This case has already touched thousands of people. You helped his story reach the world when he collapsed. Now we need you to help us finish his story properly. Please help us give this donkey the retirement he desperately needs — and give his owner a humane alternative livelihood. We cannot send him back to work. We will not send him back to work. Now we need your help to make sure he never has to work again. Please DONATE if you can. And please SHARE this post. One share can put this story in front of the person who can change both of their lives. ❤️ 🌐 Donate online: tawf.org.uk/donate

Strong @smh editorial arguing, rightly, that with last night's closure of Wentworth Park dogs after 90 years, it truly is time to get on with banning dog racing altogether as they have in so many other parts of the world. NSW is truly an outlier in still having it. #NSWpol

It melts our hearts to see Manu, a blind elephant, finding his own way now, all by himself. When Manu came into our care last year, he was severely weak, with painful joint issues and wounds after decades in the begging trade. We knew that helping him would take time, patience and, most importantly, trust. We had to let him move at his own pace, give him the space to explore, and make sure he always had the care and support he needed. Today, watching Manu make his way to the pool is a joy in itself. He takes his time, carefully feeling his surroundings with his trunk and checking each step as he moves forward. He has learnt to navigate his world in his own way, one step at a time. His caregivers are always close by, ready to guide him if he loses his way or needs a little help. But seeing him find his own way to a place he loves, with growing confidence, makes all those little steps feel so special. We couldn't be happier for you, Manu.

He climbed the Himalayas. Now the Islamic Republic wants hang him in Iran for protesting. Ali-Sina Mostafavi, an Iranian mountaineer, has been moved to solitary confinement. His family was called for a final goodbye. World media, athletes: BREAK THE SILENCE. Save his life.

All my life I have seen the President of the United States as the natural leader of the free world. But no longer. Yesterday, Trump cut a deal with Putin—lifting sanctions so Russia can sell diesel into US and global markets ahead of the midterms. Today he says Ukraine needs a new leader who will “make a deal”. He is pressuring the invaded country to replace a gallant wartime president while rewarding the invader with revenue. That is not ‘America First’. It is certainly not leadership of the free world. He is the self-serving friend of dictators, and a stain upon the founding values of the USA.

Donald Trump disgraced America today. He disgraced valor. He has sided with invaders, the killers and the rapists of Russia. Trump is a weak coward who got 5 deferments from Vietnam and who loves and worships Russia and Putin imo and is not loyal to USA.

Another hanging, hello world can you see this?? On Sunday, when his family went to see him one last time, at the end of the visit he refused to let go of them. Guards had to forcibly tear him away from his father and mother. His nam is Alireza Raeisi, born in 2004, had barely turned 22 years old. That night was the last time his parents ever touched their son. On Monday at dawn, the regime hanged him in Dastgerd Prison, Isfahan His crime? protesting on January 2026 uprising, executed for demanding freedom. 💔

This is Teddy. He is only a baby, yet his tiny body is carrying unimaginable suffering. 💔 A few days ago, late at night, Teddy arrived at our shelter alongside another donkey. They were rescued from two different cities, and getting Teddy to safety alone took us more than 36 hours. His untreated fractured leg has healed backwards in an abnormal position. He has a deep maggot-infested wound near his shoulder, prolapse, multiple wounds across his body and severe dehydration. His blood samples have been sent for testing, and treatment is underway while we await the results. Heartbreakingly, the other donkey arrived in an even worse condition. His story will follow soon. This is Teddy’s childhood. This is the reality we are trying to change. 💔 Please SHARE & REPOST. Help our Second Chance for Working Donkeys reach the people who can help us free these animals before their lives reach this point. tawf.org.uk/donate

Mahboubeh Shabani has been transferred to solitary confinement in Vakilabad Prison following her death sentence. Her life is in immediate danger. Be her voice 💔 #MahboubehShabani #Iran

No matter what prayer tune you put in the background, no matter how much you paint a little terrified baby, you can't romanticise this cruelty! This baby is going to spend the next minimum 50 years in isolated captivity! #WhyTheChains #NoElephantsInTemples #StopElephantCaptivity

Let me introduce you to Mahboubeh Shabani, a 33-year-old woman from Mashhad received death sentence. During the January uprising, when protesters were shot and wounded in the streets, Mahboubeh used her motorcycle to take injured people to hospitals. For this, she was arrested, beaten, held in solitary confinement and imprisoned in Vakilabad Prison. Now Sepideh Gholian, who was imprisoned with her, says Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court in Mashhad has sentenced Mahboubeh to death. Her crime? Helping the wounded. We still have time to act before another life is taken. #StopExecutionsInIran

As I walked off the CBS set this morning, a young producer stopped me backstage. She was shy. She hesitated. Then she asked: "Did you say a woman were blinded… intentionally? What do you mean?" I showed her the picture of Kosar. I showed her the picture of Ali. I said: yes. This is not a stray bullet. The snipers of the Islamic Republic aim for the eyes. A pellet gun fired point blank at a face. They want the world to stop watching, so they take away the eyes of the ones who watched. Kosar was shot in the eye during the Woman Life Freedom uprising. Her friend Ali Zarei was blinded the same way. Now Ali sits on death row, waiting to be executed. Kosar asked me to tell CBS about him. So I did. More than 10,000 people have been blinded, intentionally, during the Woman Life Freedom and the recent uprisings. This is the real Handmaid's Tale. Yes, you’re fiction is our reality.💔 I carry this burden every time I walk into a studio or when I go on the stage, because some people in the West cannot believe this is happening In the 21st century. Believe it. And say their names. #StopExecutionsInIran

LOOK WHAT ARRIVED LAST NIGHT! ❤️🛺 Khari came to us after his owner, trying a home remedy, poured boiling oil onto his hoof, leaving him with a terribly painful burn. Today, Khari is safe with us — and now his brand-new motor cart is here! To every beautiful soul who stepped forward and helped us raise the funds in such an incredibly short time — THANK YOU. There truly are no words. The legal paperwork will take about a week. Then Khari’s working life can officially close forever, and he can spend the rest of his life safe with us. ❤️ You made this possible. You gave Khari his Second Chance. 🌐 tawf.org.uk/donate 🔁 Please SHARE — let’s give more working donkeys their Second Chance.

WE CANNOT KEEP RESCUING THEM ONLY AFTER THEIR BODIES ARE BROKEN. 💔 Ivory is one painful example. A working equine can be used until her body has almost nothing left to give. Then she is discarded, we take her in and fight desperately to save what remains — while somewhere, another donkey may simply take her place. That cannot be the cycle we accept. Our purpose cannot only be to collect broken bodies at the end of horrific lives. We want to reach them before their bodies collapse, before their spirits are broken, before years of suffering become irreversible. And rescue alone is not enough. If we retire one donkey and the owner simply buys another, we have saved one life but we haven't stopped the suffering. That is why our Donkey Cart Exchange Project matters. We replace the animal-drawn cart with a motorised alternative, retire the working equine, remove the old cart, and secure a legal commitment that another donkey will not simply take their place. We don't just want to rescue the last donkey. We want to protect the next one. PLEASE SHARE this project. We need many helping hands to reach them before “rescue” becomes end-of-life care. 🫏❤️ tawf.org.uk/donate

Hello everyone, this is a message from inside prison, from a young Iranian woman who is about to be executed. Please help me to amplify her voice before they hang her. 💔 «Remember my name, maybe I will not be able to speak again.» This is the voice of Najmeh Amini, a 23 year old accounting student, speaking from Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad. In her voice message she says: «Be my voice. I am an innocent girl, a young woman full of hopes and dreams.» Najmeh is one of the detainees of the January uprising . She spent months in detention without a verdict, denied access to a lawyer of her choice and pressured during interrogation. In August, her trial was held at the Revolutionary Court of Mashhad on charges of «assembly and collusion» and «insulting sacred values.» She said in her voice message that her death sentence was issued on September 16, 2026. In her own words: «People, I only want justice and the chance to defend myself.» And this is her dream: «Before the rope ends my life, let me see my Iran prosperous and free.» Be her voice and all of political prisoners, especially those at risk of execution. #NajmehAmini #StopExecutionsInIran

PLEASE, PLEASE SHARE. 💔 Our sanctuary is now overcrowded, but how do we leave donkeys like Benji on the streets? He arrived late at night from a neighbouring city, in extreme pain, his hoof gone after reportedly struggling on the streets for months. We simply could not say no. We need more helping hands — for treatment, more Donkey Cart Exchanges, and more land so every rescued donkey can have the retirement we promise them. Our nursery is filling with little ones who also deserve a better future. Please SHARE our work. Please FOLLOW us. Help more people discover TAWF — because we cannot do this alone. 🫏❤️ Donate: tawf.org.uk/donate

HOW HEARTLESS HAVE WE BECOME? 💔 Meet IVORY — a beautiful white mare brought to us from a neighbouring city, now reduced to skin and bones, her body covered in wounds. Even now, her owner wants her well enough to sell her again. Ivory is repeatedly throwing her head from side to side. This could have several causes — pain, problems involving her ears, eyes or mouth, or something neurological. Her investigations are underway, and we’ll share her test results tomorrow. ANIMALS ARE NOT MACHINES. CARE MUST BEGIN BEFORE THEIR BODIES BREAK. Ivory is safe with us now. Please SHARE — wider reach means more helping hands for Ivory and the next animal who needs us. 💔🐴 tawf.org.uk/donate

This is concerning. Like the approach of Brereton when questioned in Senate Estimates about the NACC, so often the attitude of those being questioned on our behalf, officials paid by the Australian public and supposed to serve our interests, is arrogant, evasive, deflective, resentful of accountability, and dismissive of their responsibilities. Obfuscation, denial, delay and even, at times, outright contempt for the Australian public are too common. The constant ‘taking on notice’ to avoid answering questions.. One recent interviewee took on notice, that they’d taken on notice, in order to take on notice. It’s disgraceful. The whole approach needs to change. And heads of departments need to lead and set acceptable standards. Trust in government and public service is based on respect for, and accountability to those they are supposed to serve. The Australian public is the ultimate owner, not a nuisance to be avoided, excluded, or in any way denied information.
