‘Effective immediate’ Trump wrote on ‘Truth Social’ at the weekend. ‘There is an energy ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine. Both sides have agreed.’ Not a single word of that post is true. There is no energy ceasefire. It is not effective immediate. Ukraine has agreed in principle. But Trump’s pal Putin has not. Pal Putin refused when Trump last said there was an energy ceasefire (Sept 14 — bollocks then, bollocks now). Russia is still trying to cripple Ukraine’s energy infrastructure in advance of winter. There have been 196 Russian attacks on Ukrainian electricity in the past week. They continue. Over 20 attacks on Ukrainian oil and gas. They continue. And 153 Ukrainians, mainly civilians, killed in these and other attacks on residential areas. Yet Trump calls for Zelensky to be deposed, blames him for war continuing, high energy prices (NOT his failing war on Iran!). Thank you for your attention to this matter.

President Trump’s decision to lift sanctions on Russian fuel amidst Putin’s ongoing and brutal attacks on civilian targets in Ukraine makes no sense and is a betrayal of the legacy and leadership of the late Senator Lindsey Graham. While Ukraine fights for its survival, Putin’s war machine continues to prosecute his terrorist war on civilian populations and innocent Ukrainians are dying every day. Now, Instead of implementing the tough sanctions Lindsey Graham fought to his last breath to enact, President Trump has announced the United States is lifting sanctions on Russian energy, fueling the Putin’s war machine. As I saw firsthand in Ukraine last month, Putin is losing this war. Ukraine has fought the Russian military to a standstill and reinvented warfare with drones taking the fight into the heart of Russia. America should not be throwing a lifeline to Putin’s war machine. Now is the time to stand strong against Russian aggression as we did during the first Trump administration. Putin doesn’t want peace. Putin wants Ukraine. I have no doubt that if Putin overruns Ukraine, it will only be a matter of time until Russia’s military crosses a border that our troops will have to deal with him. America is the Leader of the Free World. For our National Security, for the security of our Allies in Europe including Ukraine, President Trump should rescind this deal immediately and return to the strong policies of our four years in the White House; impose harsh sanctions on any nation purchasing Russian energy and work with our allies to ensure Ukraine has the military support it needs to repel and defeat this Russian invasion once and for all. Slava Ukraini🇺🇸🇺🇦

Trump’s diesel deal with Putin makes no sense (it’s also immoral since it will fund the ailing Kremlin war machine). The US has no need of Russian diesel. It already refines more than enough for domestic demand — with 1.5m b/d for export. Russia has no diesel to export. Ukrainian drones have taken out a third of Russian refining capacity, turning Russia into a net importer of diesel (from India). The volumes involved are derisory. The initial Russian offer = 2.2m barrels. The US consumes 3.5m b/d. The price of diesel at the US pump is between $6/6.50. That won’t change before the midterms. The deal does nothing to help Trump in these elections. But it bolsters Putin and undermines Ukraine.

@0ivankaTrump1 Yes, absolutely

Only Canadians would make their point in such a special way. So proud of my fellow Canadians and their amazing creativity-

This wonderful Church is a must visit hidden gem in Norfolk and my Dad, @slthorp, is Rector of the Benefice it is in. Not mentioned is that it jointly won the RICS Building Conservation Award along side the restoration of Windsor Castle after the fire of '92!

In June 1992, Gloria Davey pushed through dense undergrowth during a Women’s Institute walk in Norfolk and found gravestones. Behind them was a church almost swallowed by ivy. She got inside. By then the roof was failing, the tower was cracked, burial vaults had been exposed and

@IanWhyt92812102 @theweeflea What a shortsighted & impoverished view.

@lady_valor_07 Brilliant

@ceecuk The very fact that this motion has been presented shows how far we have come from believing in the authority of Scripture & the Bible being the inspired Word of God. If we accept this motion, we have also accepted the premise that the Bible can mean whatever I want it to mean.

@newcarpets @rmbastable All sensible people have a concern for suffering, but assisted dying as proposed by this bill is not the answer.

One of the key lessons that disabled people learn is that people by and large don't care about accessibility issues until it impacts them personally. 2/

@VitalyBBC Thank you Vitaly. Ukrainecast was excellent & greatly missed. The war has not ended & we would love to see it back. We need it!

It is truly humbling to see listeners still asking about Ukrainecast. I always knew ours was a particularly caring, big-hearted audience. Thank you. bbc.com/audio/play/m00…

The BBC stopped running regular episodes of the excellent #Ukrainecast just before Christmas. There have been no "pop-up" episodes to cover significant developments since. Really stupid decision. It's not as if the war isn't ongoing...

@charliebelllive What a ridiculous notion.

@vicderbyshire Hi Victoria, With so many significant events on the world's stage, many of us are wondering what's happened to Ukrainecast? There haven't been any episodes this year. Are you able to share with us what's happened? It's been such a brilliant series. Thank you

@charliebelllive Amen
