I sold my dad’s truck to a nice gentleman here on Twitter. I drove it one final time tonight, and Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here” came on. I wept like a baby while taking an exit. I guess the pain never really goes away. You just find a way to live with it. Miss you, dad.
also this was weird
@slye Thank you Andy so much! We will take very good care of it in honor of your father (and grandfather) … and will even play some Pink Floyd on the ride home!!!
Well I wasn’t expecting to cry again today What a wonderful tribute from the amazing folks who traveled across the country to buy my dad’s tuck This is them driving it back home after we made the transaction last night Thanks @RickshawJeff! I’m sure you’ll take good care of it
@slye 14 years for me. Every December I intentionally put on two Christmas songs that remind me of my dad while driving along and have an all out bawl. It doesn’t go away but the smile making memories start to be way more frequent than the tear making ones ❤️
@slye I love the phrase: grief is just love, with no where to go… it’s helped me a lot recently. ❤️
