Read this paragraph and tell me that the 2024 election can be reponsibly reported using the same tools and terms in use for every national election. vanityfair.com/news/2023/10/m…

@DonEMooreJr Are you criticizing the media for crime reporting being too accurate? Not sensationalist enough?

As an American of Palestinian descent, I urge @Heritage to delete this utterly disgusting, xenophobic post.

Many American Jews rightly want to show solidarity with Israelis who are in agony. But different Israelis have different values. Some consider Palestinian life cheap, others consider it precious. Here Amira Hass pleads for the people of Gaza. Why not show solidarity with her?

Veteran Haaretz journalist Amira Hass has reported from the Occupied Palestinian Territories for decades and says the Israeli public is "drunk with the will to take revenge" on Palestinians, spurred on by a far-right government dominated by "extreme fascist settlers."

I have no ability to evaluate grainy videos and what different blast patterns look like. But I’ve spent several years developing lists of open source intelligence and forensic analysts who are consistently credible. That doesn’t mean they’re always right. But by credible …

No one cares what the victim wants unless it is prison. Just had the judge go two years over our plea agreement in a case where the victim asked for house arrest. Of course the court justified it by saying it was “justice” for the victim. The same one who wanted her brother home.

Had a long conversation today with the mother of a survivor or horrific violence. The only people treated worse than defendants in our system are often victims, survivors, and their loved ones.

@osage25 @jbarro The wheat farmers on the plains have an argument that they have more in common with midwesterners than with any other region.

@KoalaSalesman @jawillick @TomRtweets 371 seems subject to being challenged for vagueness to me. But if they can prove the facts in the indictment, there is no question at all about 18 USC 1512 applying.

@AndrewCMcCarthy @NRO You don’t really deal with the actual statutes. 371 might be vague but 241 is not much of a stretch at all and the two counts under 1512 very clearly apply.

Criminal justice feels hopelessly polarized, but something is undisputed here: The Founders saw the jury trial as one of the most vital safeguards for liberty. Now almost no one gets one, because the government coerces people out of using it. That should bother everyone.

But Bradley Bass never had child porn. He was a principal who'd investigated a school sexting incident when cops declined to do so. His story epitomizes why innocent people waive their right to trial. You have to decide: Is a jury trial worth risking your whole life?

Last year, cops in Colorado charged a man with possessing child porn. The state knew that was a lie. So prosecutors offered him a "bargain": If he pled guilty to obstruction, they'd close the case. If he insisted on a trial, he'd risk 12 years in prison & sex offender status.

@JoyceWhiteVance This isn’t persuasive at all because the situation is incredibly different. If Cannon sentences Trump, and gets reversed multiple times, then the case would be relevant.

This indictment really does hit home that the US Government does not have secret knowledge of alien life. Trump would’ve told every car dealership owner who played a round of golf at Mar-a-Lago about the big, beautiful aliens with their yuge floating saucers

Point of clarification, it's a banana republic when the president of the state commits crimes and DOESN'T face justice.
