How can you be moral in a society that doesn't value morality any longer? I'm asking YOU, personally. This isn't an abstract philosophical question but a solicitation of a concrete personal illustration. How do YOU do it?
@TOEwithCurt Not sure when or where a society existed that did value morality. There are fluctuations in society’s valuation of obedience and conformity.Morality seems to be an innate component of every individual, excluding psychopaths. The influence of that sense on society fluctuates.
@DaveSFoley @TOEwithCurt So many times, those in power used the specter of "corrupting morality" to oppress and keep down those who question authority. Appeals to morality are the low hanging fruit of the Populist who is never responsible for their rhetoric.
