Calling Raila Odinga the Lord of Poverty and Chaos was a party trick during campaigns. Look, you won. Now you are the government. Raila isn't raising taxes on food, fuel and breathing, making poor people poorer and angrier. You are. HNIB was cute before campaigns: you convinced your voters that you were in opposition (you weren't) and unable to address rising living costs. Now you're THE government. Using HNIB now suggests you're clutching at conspiracy theory straws even with instruments of power in your hands. Profiling one community and its leader is a tried and tested dark art to win elections in Kenya, when passions are high and most of critical thinking out of the window. But the price of food, fuel, rent and power knows no ethnic groups. Hunger and lack of money has a way of bringing clarity to thought. Even to your support base. Hence the countrywide discontentment. When the Finance Bill was taken to the people, 7 out of 10 Kenyans DID NOT want new taxes that would make life more unbearable. Including THOSE who VOTED FOR YOU. You ignored them. You went ahead and forced it down their throats with your majority numbers in parliament. Only a court injunction now stands in the way. And now the courts too, are rogue in your eyes. But who's really the rogue here? The protests may be led by persons you detest, but the issues are real and cut across Kenyans of all groups. A little honesty and introspection about your role in the current crisis won't hurt. You made hefty campaign promises which you started breaking barely 100 days in office. Can't blame Raila for that. Not when Wanjiku can't afford cabbage and kerosene, which you promised she would as soon as you take over the government. Well then. Welcome to government.
@FerdyOmondi They will say your name betrays you but in here you make a lot of sense.
@snaynek5 @FerdyOmondi But it does. When the handshake brothers were getting us where we are right now he never wrote this poems, he was all Okay. He just realized that the cost of living is high.
