Q: Isn’t it a fact that the president’s proposed budget proposes $4.7 trillion in new taxes? Sec. Yellen: It does propose significant additional taxes, yes. Q: $4.7 TRILLION? Sec. Yellen: Something like that, yes.
@SenJohnKennedy With the House in control of the purse strings, the $5.7 trillion in additional taxes won’t happen. The point of the budget is to portray the Republicans as the uncaring side that doesn’t spend us into oblivion by buying all the new toys.
@JEHutton @SenJohnKennedy Excuse me? Remember all those toys Trumps friends bought after he announced to his friends “You all just got a lot richer”.
@songfourone @JEHutton @SenJohnKennedy I remember the 2017 Trump tax cuts. I worked at a plant with 200 people(mostly union members) making 40K-150K. We all got $100-200 more in our paychecks every 2 weeks. That extra money made a big difference. Not an ultra-rich(or even regular rich) in the bunch.
