Hip drop tackle? You can’t make a tackle that the defender doesn’t end up with his hips and body on the ground unless you knock them to the ground standing up.
@sonofbum @TheFredzilla If you’re not dropping your weight on the back of their legs it’s not a hip drop tackle
@sonofbum What I hate is that they're making these ludicrous rule changes under the guise of player safety, and then lengthen the season which completely offsets any claims that they actually care about player safety. It makes less than 0 sense.
It’s not about the ball carrier’s hips & drop to the ground it’s about the tackler wrapping around the hips, hanging onto the ball carrier & then pulling/twisting him down. Rather then making a fundamentally sound tackle by diving & tackling the ball carrier’s legs & or running through the upper body of the ball carrier. These hip drop & twist tackles are lazy ways to tackle.
@sonofbum If Wade Phillips says its so.. It's Fucking SO. Love this man and his family, A Denver Broncos fan.
@sonofbum @AaronNagler Just be honest about it and give ‘em flags.
@sonofbum "a tackle where the hips and body end up on the ground" isn't even close to the definition of swivel hip drop tackle.
