@madradish @JennyKayNZ We really are. We visited Munich during Oktoberfest by accident too. And I managed to visit Jakarta for work near the end of Ramadan.

@madradish @JennyKayNZ Travel insurance only covers a limited amount - and doesn't help if there's basically nowhere to go. Sorted now. But not fun. Jetstar should have to handle accommodation under the Montreal Convention but it looks like they try to make it nearly impossible to actually make them

Eldest is absolutely outraged because the Wellington cable car is actually a funicular not a cable car.

@madradish There was a lovely dusting of snow on the mountain ranges this morning. Gorgeous.

@JayDzed Oh, it's always the executives' fault. Under resourced, under trained, perverse incentives everywhere.

I would love to share the hilariously incompetent circular conversation I had with Spark New Zealand's tech support for your entertainment. I ordered a prepaid eSim before travelling to New Zealand. Sensible, right? Have the service ready before I even land. Ha ha. Ha. Haaa.

@JayDzed Yeah. It's my favourite way to spend a holiday, arguing with a telco. I'll just do a bank charge back instead, at least that'll cost them extra. Even better, Molly got in a stupid Catch 22 situation with activating her Vodafone NZ SIM. Seems New Zealand telcos just can't.

Sorry if I got some stuff out of order. Not used to Twitter's UI and had to stitch this together from screenshots. The point comes across clearly enough. Spark cannot deliver a service or answer simple questions about it.

If you are travelling, don't be fooled by how convenient it looks to just be able to order an eSim from Spark and get it all set up before you travel. They are completely incompetent. Use someone else. Anyone else. I got a GlobalESim ordered and activated in 5 mins.
