@hanahakisseo People who choose to ignore race only dismiss the very real oppression that certain people face. You are making an active choice to not understand. Its also surprising you’re unaware of the history of your country, where race definitely played a part in many things

@hanahakisseo It doesn’t matter if they identify with it or not, they will still experience racism specific to whatever race they are seen as 🙄 people don’t point out race for the sake of it, it is to explain the disparities and discrimination experienced by groups due to racism

@hanahakisseo @terrifag @optionsGod1982 @mao_0k Colourism literally comes from racism as well, those who are lighter are considered higher proximity to whiteness and therefore treated better

It’s because they did Sam’s character extremely dirty and his history, backstory etc. was barely explored. We barely learnt anything new about Sam, we learnt more about his family which was welcome but really not much else

Don’t even get me started on the hollow symbolism of the DAMN STATUE OF ISAIAH. I think that’s the word I’m looking for, hollow. I was even annoyed at Bucky’s arc, his horrendous therapist and how the show alluded that he was to blame for his winter soldier days

Sam acted like he did not know anything about how the experience of being a black man in America (the discussion between him and Isaiah was horrid). In what world is Sam clueless to reason as to why Isaiah is hesitant about coming out of hiding and become captain america….

That show had terrible writing and relied on the fact that they dumbed Sam’s character down and removed some of his major attributes for the plot to work. The main thing I was excited about was the exploration of race in the show and GOD did it disappoint in that aspect
