Took this one step further. Vibe coded my own TV OS with Claude Code No more ads: replaced with a live 3D model of my apartment. Lights + ceiling fan wired in, they turn on in the 3D in real time. The TV inside the 3D shows the live TV 🤯 What should I add next?
Vibe coded my parents' TV this afternoon! It was showing a sponsored ad before you could even get to Netflix. Gave Claude Code the model number, it found the TV on wifi, removed 25 Xiaomi packages and wrote a new launcher. Looks like an Apple TV now lol

webOS doesn't let apps replace LG's launcher or the Home button. The 3D view is a web page, so a webOS app is possible in theory, but I haven't tried it, and installing your own app needs LG's developer mode. The simple route is a Google TV streaming device plugged into the LG: then it works like mine

No smart plug, it's hardwired like any ceiling fan, but it has Wi-Fi built in (Tuya-based, set up with the Smart Life app). Home Assistant's Tuya integration exposes the fan speed and the light separately, and my bridge talks to Home Assistant. You couldn't get separate speed and light control with a regular fan on a smart plug.

@ayushmokal6 not sure but claude says only partly bc Samsung locks its home screen, so it can't replace the ads there. But Tizen apps are web apps and the 3D is one, so Claude could package it as a Tizen app you open from the TV. For the full thing, a Google TV dongle on HDMI works as is.
