PURPLE (Life threatening cardiac or respiratory arrest) or RED (life threatening illness or injury, other than cardiac arrest) calls receive the highest priority in NEOC. Close to half of the 1000+ daily emergency calls into NEOC are classified as life threatening calls.

A stroke is a life-threatening medical condition. The word FAST will help you recognise when a stroke is happening and what you need to do. Call 112 or 999 immediately. The sooner a person gets treatment, the less damage is likely to happen.
