@IntuitMachine Then the keeper needs a one-page checklist, not a hire: where keys live, who gets paged, how to restore a backup, when to freeze deploys. Written so a non-technical owner can run it.
@IntuitMachine A retainer feels like overkill for most of them. The usual failures are boring: exposed keys, no rate limits, no backups. A maker who learns those three can keep a small app alive. The bigger ones, sure, hire someone.
@pmitu Close to zero, yeah. But for tiny apps the marketing that tends to work isn't ads. It's the maker showing up in threads where their users already complain, every day, for months. Slow and boring, and it beats polishing the landing page again.

@JaiOnX20 The 2 AM part is fixable. Readable logs, one error alert, and a line on why each weird choice was made. Most vibe-coded apps skip all three because nobody asks for them, and the agent won't add them unprompted.
@4n6lady It shouldn't be. A sane middle: vibe code the UI, but auth, payments and anything touching user data get a real review and a proven library. The model writing its own auth from scratch is the scary part.
@startupoppa Agree. Code is the easy part to copy now. What's hard to copy is the people who already trust you, and building in public is how you find them. Hiding the work mostly hides you from your first users.
@MbaziiraRonn I'd add one line before the agent: talk to 5 people who'd use it. Building got cheap, so the hard part moved to picking what to build and getting it in front of people.

@ChrisBarnes3D Partly. Most upvotes come from other makers, so votes aren't buyers. The useful part is the comments: someone saying "I'd use this if it did X" is a real user telling you what to build. Go for that, not the rank.
@fekdaoui The $0 version still needs someone to host it, update it and fix it when it breaks. Indie hackers will rebuild a $39 tool, but they keep paying for the one that saves them from maintaining it. That's the part worth selling.
