New post: Faking A Pager In Jekyll stevevalaitis.com/blog/faking-a-… #jekyll #pagination
Finally decided to put up my personal site/blog stevevalaitis.com #blog #responsive #aboutdamntime
@MonikerSnap I have requested multiple password reset emails, but have not received a single one. Please help.
Released my new #rails authorization plugin Permit, as a gem: http://github.com/dnd/permit
Subway needs a drive through. Even when taking to go you'll still smell like it the rest of the day.
Heard the airport was a madhouse. Skipped on my last session. Glad I did. Took 45 to get there, and 2 hours to checkin.
How the heck do I have full bars and evdo in one room, and across the hall I have roaming with 1 bar and no data.
The carrot and a stick method of motivating people is great. If they don't go for the carrot, you can just hit them with the stick, right?
The wifi here is terrible. If you can even get on it is dog slow.
Efficient plsql was some preaching about how it's the best, but had really good info. Sucks that ellison's keynote cut into it 15 min
Using em with oim session was decent but really rushed because of the 30 min session
Excellent. The lego mindstorms &weblogic session has the disclaimer of no business value... The perfect session so far.
If ruby was as prolific in the enterprise would it take the same appearance as java, in terms of seemingly over-engineered solutions?
The cheese in my omelette has the tensile strength of steel.
OAAM sess was best yet, but too rushed. Was joined with db vault. Needed 1.5 hours.
NYC chief sw arch gave some good insight on the problems faced with their fusion mw impl. Mainly in terms of business drivers.
Fusion middleware for PaaS(cloud). Good intro for those unfamiliar with the whole cloud concept and how it can apply to an enterprise.
Very strong emphasis from oracle that the cloud is an evolution, not a revolution.
Interesting to see the oracle perf approach vs something like rails. Complete opposite. Premature optimizing vs optimizing as needed.
Fusion perf shape-up very useful with a lot of good tuning information.
