@MikeBartner I would say B+ for Devils and C+ for the Jets. Jets got nothing that will improved this team this year or next. Devils are taking chance with a 33 yr old but I would rather go with Helle and Allen than Daws and Allen in net. It's a big upgrade no matter how you look at it.

@MyFrontPageGift @MikeBartner Many considered Command a late 1st rd or 2nd rd pick before the draft. Some critized the Devils for picking him so early. May still be a solid player. But right now he is unsigned and about 2 to 3 years from possibly making the team.

@NHL @NJDevils It may look like the Devils gave up alot but they didn't. Mercer has been MIA this season and his prior stats have been ok. Daws is good backup(low ceiling). Command is unsigned and many wonder why Devils picked him so early in the draft. Bjugstad is out. Picks are hit or miss.

@NHLJets Good luck guys. Maybe you weren't a fit for the Devils future but I think they will do fine in Winnipeg.

@OldJerzey76 I like Mercer. He was never going to be another Bratt or Hughes. He is a middle 6 guy who started off strong in his career and just slowly took steps back. Devils had too many forwards and he was the odd man out.

@HKYTWNSADTIMES I see where you are going but the Devils aren't trading Nico. Getting Helle does make the Devils more enticing to Quinn though. But I think Quinn will test FA and then the Devils can move pieces around to make it work after signing him.

@DynastyDenied @TSN_Sports @DarrenDreger @PierreVLeBrun Did the Jets make the playoffs with him?? Devils have a better chance to make the playoffs with Helle in net than Daws. Once in the playoffs then we will see what he does. Could be a disappointment or may not. Playoffs aren't just won or lost based on the goalies.

@spittinchiclets As a Devils fan it all depends on the draft picks. The 7th, the 2nd and Alexander Command. Mercer isn't a needle mover and Daws is ok but his ceiling is low and Bjugstad is just a freebe who is on LTIR till next year. We won't know who wins this trade for at least few years.

@JustADevil6 @espn I agree Command is what hurts the most to me. Draft picks arent 1st's so they can be hit or misses. Daws is ok but isn't the future. Mercer hasnt improved the past 2 and right now maybe at his peak. And that other guy (tired of trying to spell his name was a freebe to the Jets.

@NHLJets Both teams did fine. Jets get a goalie with some potential, middle 6 forward, a 12th over pick (who could be NHL ready in 3 years), Bjugstad (ehh!!) and 2 picks. Devils get the goalie that can make them a legit playoff team now. Devils can now be a legit threat to get Quinn now.
