To all XRD / NMR / SEM and other analytical instrument users - how many of you wear a lab coat when you just enter the instrument lab? Is there any guideline from RSC ? What’s your University’s H&S guideline for instrument lab? What’s considered best practice? Thank you.

I was lucky to use the I19: Small Molecule Single Crystal Diffraction beamline in the @DiamondLightSou through a rapid access proposal. I spent a few hours since yesterday afternoon till today early morning.. Thanks to @DavidAllan704 and Dr Sarah Barnett for their kind help.

We had a fantastic beamtime at #DANMAX at @MAXIVLaboratory .. thanks to the beamline scientists for all their support. Data collection was super fast.. This trip also allowed me to visit Sweden after 10 long years.. it was very cold with bright sunshine.. 😊

I started teaching molecular spectroscopy course showing my daughter's excitement looking at the double rainbow from our window.. Rainbow is known to all of us.. Newton, 300 years ago, first demonstrated that white light can be separated into different colours using a prism..

We are investigating hydration / dehydration mechanism of a pharmaceutical drug using in-situ powder x-ray diffraction at variable humidity & temperature conditions. The instrument will continuously measure the sample over the weekend, when we can relax. @UoLLifeSciences @bruker
