We need a change in mindset.😭 There are three stages when you Japa 1. The survival stage 2. The stable stage 3. The thriving stage A thread!
When I moved to this country 16 years ago. I met a man doing odd jobs. Then I met him again a few years ago. He didn't recognise me. So I told him how we met. He shared his story, I was moved. He lived here illegally, and by law it will take 20 years to have the right to work. Never go anywhere with just visiting visa. Your life will be on hold. Travel right. Back to the Japa stages Your survival stage is always challenging, it can last several years depending on your type of visa or the job you do. You are in a new country, give yourself time. The type of visa you have will impact how challenging this period will be. This is why it is good to Japa correctly. A student visa gives you limited hours to work during term time, if you are self funded or on a shoestring budget, it can be tough, days of just bread and milk, or beans on toast or managing with a friend. It is a phase that will pass with patience, perseverance, and grit. Visiting visas mean you can't work legally,a student's dependant means you can work full time but your visa is tied to the main applicant, a dependent to a tier 2 visa holder has more freedom with work. Investing in yourself before Japa, by getting in demand skills will get you to thrive quicker. I know people that came with graphic designer, photography and drumming skills. They are eating well on the side. Joining a community here is also important. Information is power. Churches, Mosques, Student Union. 2. Stable Stage. Now you have work, you have leave to remain. But you will struggle to keep your head above water. Income is £2,200, bills are £2,000. Your children are okay but you are struggling. If you are not careful, nothing will change for years. These Western countries do not care if we do minimum wage job for 100 years. They will only pay what they think our value is worth. 3. Thriving stage. One of our aunts went back to study social work in university after already doing well. Today she is making big money. I went back to university as well. My income transformed. Once you know where the big money is, you have to push yourself and get trained. It might take a new course, training or work experience. That pain is tough but if we push through and get those qualifications, we will be able to earn more and have disposable income, which can go to investing. Japa is not easy but people came here with nothing and they become millionaires overtime not overnight. It begins with God,dreams, action and patience. May God help us❤️ Follow for more motivational and inspirational content. 🙏
