The reality is that many everyday establishments — restaurants, banks etc — aren’t equipped with braille menus or statements. #WorldBrailleDay is a day dedicated to highlighting the importance of accessibility and independence for those who are blind or visually-impaired.

Many establishments don’t offer braille versions of their print materials like menus, because of this, people with blindness or visual impairments often don’t have the freedom to choose a meal on their own or keep their finances private.

Thrilled to share my experience with @ASKItalian in #Stevenage and their Braille menu! As a blind person, the joy of browsing a menu at my own pace is priceless. This option enhances my sense of independence. Huge props to ASK Italian for being inclusive. #AccessibilityWins
