Being good (in either sense) will bring you what seems like good luck, but isn't as random as it seems. People will talk about you behind your back, just as they do if you're bad, but instead of secretly harming you, they'll secretly help you.
i asked @naval: what’s the highest leverage thing a young people can do?
They said it couldn't be done They said 2-year-olds couldn't read They said we definitely couldn't teach them to read with software I'm so proud of our team. Education is about to change forever.

@sonicshifts Yes, we are now several years past an AI singularity, everyone is very confused, nobody seems to be able to make meaningful predictions, but things continue to happen
I've said this before... Fascism is sensitivity to disgust that is so extreme that it resorts to authoritarianism to purge the object of that disgust, then continues projecting disgust onto things that aren't disgusting, and purges them, too. And communism is sensitivity to…

Many people are hating on this video, but I actually think it's a fascinating display of the two very distinct modes that exist to relate with reality: mimesis vs. first principles thinking. 95% of people operate by mimesis. Truth doesn't matter to them as much as getting…

# scheduling workloads to run on humans Some computational workloads in human organizations are best "run on a CPU": take one single, highly competent person and assign them a task to complete in a single-threaded fashion, without synchronization. Usually the best fit when…
karpathy dropped another gem - “the general point is that you have to recognize that you are dumb, accept it, come to terms with it, and forgive yourself. only then can you trick yourself into becoming smarter.”
