Like, how?! How does color endure this way? What advanced color pigment process did they have that I am looking at these colors in 2023????? Below is an area where the color is faded. Imagine all the colors on all the walls. I can’t. It’s mesmerizing

So in that way, it didn’t address social issues or meet larger community needs. However, what it does for *us* today is testify of humanity, science, and Africa’s power. The temple used to be full of color. It’s THOUSANDS of years old. And look, there’s still some color 😲

I’m sharing because this is, essentially, like wrap around services 😂 - so it’s an indigenous African practice. We did not invent it. Egyptians did. Now, this was only for royal families and others with access, so the commoners didn’t use it.

Today, in Egypt, I visited the Kom Ombo Temple. It was the first hospital ever, ever, ever. It was also a medical school and a religious space.

And lastly (for now), the value of teachers in this country is equivalent to engineers, architects, & others. This is a scribe, featured on one of their largest bills. The scribe was also a teacher, showing how important education & those who teach it, are. 🇪🇬💙

In our Global school visits, we noticed that most teachers did not have a room filled with decor...not even a 'Teacher Desk'. When asked why, they seemed puzzled. Their response "This classroom doesn't belong to me. It belongs to my students. They will fill it."
