Most people (including myself) cannot come up with the slow and fast pointer approach for finding cycle in linked list on their own. Understanding and implementing is the easier part. Handful people in the world have the talent to come up with these ideas. I am not one of them.
We generally don’t want experts to be unsure or hesitant. We prefer them to be confident even if they are wrong. There is a real demand for overconfidence.
